What are the responsibilities and job description for the Proposal Analyst I position at University of Colorado Boulder?
The Proposals Team at the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES) is encouraging applications for a Proposal Analyst I (PA I) to work on sponsored research proposals. This position will work with faculty, students, and researchers to create budgets and justification documents, interpret sponsor guidelines, keep accurate records, and submit proposals. The incumbent will collaborate with a team of Pre-Award Research Administrators to facilitate research by providing high-quality proposal submission services to CIRES faculty and research personnel. Successful candidates will demonstrate competency in working with a wide range of people. This position will report to the CIRES Proposals Deputy Director.

Information Gathering (10%)
Collaborate with PIs to capture all required information, ensuring that timelines and relevant details are understood and communicated clearly.
Internal Approvals and Form Completion (10%)
Review proposal information and request internal approvals for each proposal as appropriate.
Proposal Document Coordination (15%)
Lead the proposal document compilation schedule. Coordinate with all parties to ensure compliance with the solicitation and submission guidelines.
Proposal Budget and Justification Preparation (30%)
Prepare the proposal budget and justification, ensuring all sections are accurate and meet CU and sponsor requirements.
Review (15%)
Review all proposal documents for compliance with solicitation requirements. Work with the CIRES proposal reviewer to finalize the proposal package.
Proposal Submission Documentation and Compliance (15%)
Submit the proposal via the appropriate mechanism as CU’s Authorized Organizational Representative. Collaborate with the data information coordinator to ensure that all proposal records are accurately documented and tracked in the University’s official system.
Other Duties (5%)
Performs other relevant duties as needed.

This is a full-time position with 8 hours of work per day, Monday through Friday. Work must occur between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM each day (M-F). This role requires in-person work 5 days per week during the training period and at least 3 days per week in the office after the training period.
The target start date is July 1, 2025, or earlier.

Salary : $51,000 - $65,000
