CU Boulder's Mountain Research Station located in Nederland, CO is seeking an Assistant Cook for our PM shift!
Under the direction of the PM Kitchen Lead, this position will help to prepare, cook, serve, and clean-up dinner meals for guests visiting or staying at the Mountain Research Station. Dinner meals often consist of 20-50 people but occasionally up to 100 people. This position often only works with the kitchen lead to perform all kitchen activities so willingness to participate in the full process from start to final clean-up is critical to success. This is a temporary opportunity anticipated to last from mid-May 2025 through mid-Sept 2025.

Responsibilities
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
- Prepare, cook, serve, and clean-up of meals.
- All meals are scheduled and serve 20-50 people.
- The ability to work at a fast pace to meet serving time windows is critical to success.
- Core hours from May 19, 2025 - Sept 2025 are Mon - Sat from 3-8pm. Some weekends no hours, some weekends more hours, flexibility required.
- Part time (20-30 hrs) from June 2nd – Aug 20th; after Aug 20th only occasional weekends.
The hourly range for this part-time position is $20.00 - $24.00

What We Require
- 6 months experience in a food preparation / cook position. Education may substitute for experience.
- Ability to work weekdays and weekends as needed. Actual hours will depend on guest numbers and dates and will vary throughout the summer.
- Reliable transportation is required.
- Food safety knowledge.
- Ability to work at a fast pace.
- Experience with prep and cooking practices to accommodate food allergies and preferences including vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, etc.
