Pay Range: Pay depends on number of site visits, up to 8 visits per semester. $75 per phone visit, $150 per in-person visit. This position is Exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.

Summary
The Johnson Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs will establish and maintain a pool of Lecturer - Site Visitors from which future appointments to temporary, non-tenure track positions will be made. Appointments are part-time (less than 50% time), usually for only one course/lab section, and made on a semester-by-semester.
The position will serve as a site visitor for nurse practitioner students. Site visits will be done in person or by phone, and site visitors will be assigned no more than 8 students per semester. The ideal candidate will have a flexible schedule. Specialties include Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult/Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (Adult/Gero) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program options.
Essential Functions
The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- A site visitor will act as a liaison between the Helen and Arthur E. Johnson Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences, the student, the clinical site, and preceptor. The site visitor will be assigned a maximum of eight telephone or on-site visits, depending on their preference, and the option(s) of the student the are assigned.
- Site visitors will contact all students to whom they are assigned early in the semester to introduce themselves, coordinate either a telephonic or onsite visit, and discuss expectations for the visit.
- The site visitor will act as a mentor to the student, answering any questions presented regarding the role of a nurse practitioner role, specific clinical questions, and address any concerns.
- The site visitor will evaluate the student's performance by speaking to the preceptor via phone or during an in-person on-site visit.
- Documentation of the student's performance will be completed via an electronic form in Medatrax, prior to the end of the semester.
- The site visitor will reach out to the Clinical Practicum Coordinator with any concerns in regards to the visit or if the preceptor had comments they shared during the visit that may need to be further addressed.
- All visits and documentation must be completed by the end of the semester.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience working as either a Family Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, or an Adult Gero Nurse Practitioner is required.
- Special Qualifications:
- An Active Advanced Practice License/Registration is required.
Tentative Search Timeline
This is an evergreen Site Visitor Lecturer Pool for the Nursing Department in the Johnson Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences at UCCS. Applications will be reviewed on a semester-by-semester basis as business needs arise.

- Potential Start Dates: Employment start dates will vary based on course scheduling needs and will align with the start of the relevant academic semester.
Because this appointment is temporary in nature, you will not be eligible to receive all of the benefits normally provided to faculty under the standard University of Colorado benefits programs. You are not eligible to receive paid vacation leave, medical, or retirement benefits. However, you are eligible to accrue sick leave at 0.034 hours of sick leave per hour worked.
