Faculty Position â Innovation ProfessorshipÂ
The University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington, CT, is seeking to fill a faculty position with a talented biomedical scientist who has a proven track record in entrepreneurship. Applications at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor levels are invited. The positions include a tenure-track appointment in an appropriate department in the UConn School of Medicine.
This position is supported by a special fund established by the State of Connecticut to support economic development within the State. This fund will support significant startup packages for the successful applicant. Applicants should have a doctoral degree and a commitment to translating innovations to the market via patents, licenses and/or startup companies. A strong record of publications and extramural funding is also desired.
All candidates should send a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement of teaching interests and contact information for 4 references. At the Assistant Professor level, applicants should include a plan for their proposed independent research and how it may be commercialized, describing the potential for future grant or industry support. Candidates at Senior levels should describe their current and long term plans, providing evidence for a strong and sustainable funded research program and successful commercial translation of intellectual property.
