Faculty Position-
The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Connecticut Health Center, located in Farmington, Connecticut, is seeking to recruit a geriatric mental health researcher. This position is open to psychiatrists with added qualifications in Geriatric Psychiatry, geriatric psychologists and neuropsychologists. We are searching for an academic geriatric mental health researcher with a demonstrated record of academic achievement as evidenced by scholarly work, external funding, and involvement in teaching. The successful candidate will become part of a growing geriatric psychiatry clinical, research and education team at UCONN Health Center.
This is a tenure track position with rank to be determined based on qualifications and experience. Physician candidates must be able to obtain a Connecticut medical license and be Board Certified/eligible. Psychology candidates must be able to obtain a Connecticut license. In addition to conducting research, the faculty member will be expected to contribute to our clinical mission through patient care and to our educational mission through teaching and training of psychiatry residents, medical students, psychology interns or post-doctoral fellows.
This is an exciting time to be at the University of Connecticut and in this Department of Psychiatry. UCONN Health Center has a strong Center on Aging, and the Psychiatry Department is under new leadership committed to expanding the geriatric psychiatry Program. The department provides inpatient and outpatient services for older adults, and currently has a growing portfolio of NIH-funded research in Geriatric Psychiatry.
