What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grounds/Maintenance Technician position at University of Dayton Research Institute?
Position Summary: Assist with upkeep of all university athletic fields, which includes mowing, snow plowing, tractors, weed eating, etc. Assist with general maintenance when needed in the athletics arena and campus buildings which includes but not limited to painting, general maintenance, set up/tear down of special events and housekeeping. Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma.
Eight years of experience in a ground maintenance/athletic field maintenance position.
Two years experience operating trucks, loaders, and large tractors.
Current pesticide license or must obtain within 90 days of hire.
One year general knowledge/skills in the following areas: electrical; plumbing; carpentry; doors/windows; painting and minor wall repair.
Must have valid driver's license with low risk driving record.
Must be able to work independently and flexible with hours.
Preferred Qualifications
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
Degree in some type of landscape/horticultural field.
ODA licensed in both turf and ornamental categories.
10 years of experience in Grounds maintenance/athletic field position.
