The Senior Data Modeler plays a critical role in the design, development, and implementation of a data management strategy that supports the organization's strategic goals and operational needs. This individual will work with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and translate them into efficient and scalable data architectures. This individual will be responsible for creating conceptual, logical, and physical data models; informing, defining, and documenting data governance standards; ensuring data integrity; and optimizing data storage and retrieval processes.

The Senior Data Modeler plays a critical role in the design, development, and implementation of a data management strategy that supports the organization's strategic goals and operational needs. This individual will work with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and translate them into efficient and scalable data architectures. This individual will be responsible for creating conceptual, logical, and physical data models; informing, defining, and documenting data governance standards; ensuring data integrity; and optimizing data storage and retrieval processes.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 5 years professional experience in a data management related field.
- Relational and dimensional data modeling, database design, and performance tuning skills.
- Understanding of source and target data structures, ETL processes, and products.
- Five years experience writing SQL.
- Experience with systems analysis functions with emphasis on translating business needs into technical solutions.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

- Bachelor's degree in a technical related field.
- Working knowledge of data warehousing design principles.
- Experience working with data in the Higher Education industry.
- Experience working with Ellucian Banner, Salesforce, and Canvas data.
- Two or more years of experience with relational databases and/or data warehouse technologies.
- Three years experience using Oracle database.
- Ability to work with users at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to promote inclusive excellence in the workplace.
