The engineer will support research to better understand the effects of laser manufacturing processes on materials and will develop engineering tools for advancing research technologies for novel materials and manufacturing solutions. Activities may include, designing large assemblies and analyzing hardware using Solidworks or equivalent, fabrication using CNC equipment using MasterCam or equivalent, Integration of PLC and various subcomponents, demonstrating AM machine calibration compliance / readiness, printing specimens / calibration builds, working across teams / groups to drive material or process improvement and scientific discovery.
Minimum Qualifications :
- A bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited University by January 1, 2025.
- Experience with SolidWorks or equivalent.
- Experience with Additive Manufacturing.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government candidates for this position must be a U.S. Citizen.
