CONTEXT OF THE JOB :
Under the limited direction of the Director, the Associate Director of Learning and Development performs the full scope of activities associated with organizational development and engagement (ODE) functions of the Office of Human Resources. The individual will play a key leadership role in advancing the university’s workforce development efforts by developing and executing HR’s learning and development strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
The Associate Director will lead the annual performance management program, ensuring effective implementation, providing manager training and support and promoting alignment between individual performance and institutional goals.
Additionally, the Associate Director will be a primary administrator of HR’s Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring the system’s functionality supports a variety of learning initiatives, and provides seamless user experiences for faculty, staff, and administrators.
This role is central to the creation and implementation of impactful learning programs, professional development opportunities, and organizational learning initiatives that drive employee engagement, performance, and growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
L&D Strategy and Program Development
- Lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of comprehensive learning and development programs that support the professional growth of faculty, staff, and administrators.
- Analyze organizational learning needs and implement programs that foster employee growth, performance improvement, and retention.
- Establish and maintain a university-wide learning and development framework that includes leadership development, role-specific competencies, career progression, skills enhancement, and performance management.
- Guide managers through the performance management cycle, ensuring consistency in evaluations and fostering an environment of accountability and growth.
- Collaborate with HR leadership to integrate performance management data with development programs, compensation planning, and talent management initiatives.
- Monitor and analyze the success of the performance management program, gathering feedback and adjusting, as needed, to drive engagement and performance improvements across the institution.
- Monitor industry trends and best practices to ensure the university’s learning initiatives remain cutting-edge and relevant.
