Position Summary
- Provide circulation desk assistance to library patrons, including students, faculty, attorneys, and self-represented members of the public.
- Perform administrative tasks, which could include updating print materials, running circulation reports, and stacks maintenance.
- Open or close the library at the beginning or end of the day if working those shifts.
- Answer questions about library policies.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide circulation services to library patrons
- Check in and check out materials using the Sierra ILS
- Answer logistical, collection, and library policy questions
- Administrative Services
- May be asked to help process government documents and serials
- Depending on shift, may involve opening and closing the library
- Perform projects as assigned
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Education – A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or 18 months to four years of work experience in a related field.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must be a team player with a willingness to perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
Job may require lifting light weight objects (1 to 10 pounds) with no repetitive bending or stooping. Occasionally lift average weight objects (1 to 10 pounds).
Work Environment
Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office.

Varies. May be asked to regularly work evening and weekend shifts, if necessary.
