Advancement Officer

The University of Evansville seeks a Advancement Officer to join our Major Gifts team. This full-time position reports to the Senior Director of Major Gifts and plays a key role in securing both restricted and unrestricted gifts from corporate and foundation donors. The ideal candidate will have strong research, relationship-building, and grant-writing skills to advance the University's fundraising efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify, research, and rate corporations and foundations as potential funding sources.
• Develop and execute cultivation and solicitation strategies for top-tier prospects.
• Increase corporate donations, particularly unrestricted gifts.
• Write compelling grant proposals and coordinate submission processes.
• Maintain relationships with corporate and foundation representatives for ongoing cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
• Prepare correspondence for the President’s Office related to corporate and foundation partnerships.
• Track and maintain accurate financial statistics, grant agreements, and reporting documentation.
• Coordinate the external funding approval process and advise faculty, administrators, and student organizations on fundraising opportunities.
• Collaborate with the Office of Fiscal Affairs on award setup, budget modifications, reporting, and closeout processes.
• Manage corporate and foundation relations website content and updates.
• Participate in professional development events and assist with university fundraising initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Fundraising and grant-writing experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and project management abilities.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Additional Requirements: Some evening and weekend work required; limited travel possible.
