Key Responsibilities
Campus Patrol and Safety:
- Conduct regular patrols to ensure the campus is safe and free of criminal activity, fire hazards, and other predictable risks.
- Provide safety escorts for students, staff, and visitors on campus.
Incident Management:
- Investigate and document criminal and non-criminal incidents, producing detailed reports.
- Coordinate with local law enforcement agencies when necessary.
Traffic and Building Access Control:
- Manage traffic flow, enforce parking regulations, and ensure proper building access control.
- Conduct safety inspections to maintain secure campus facilities.
Enforcement and Engagement:
- Enforce University policies outlined in the Student Handbook, with a focus on the Code of Conduct.
- Document violations of state laws when applicable and collaborate with law enforcement as needed.
- Engage with the campus community to foster a secure and inclusive environment.
Collaboration:
- Assist various departments, including Residence Life, Student Affairs, Facilities Management, Counseling Services, and the Community Health Clinic, as needed.
24/7 Operations:
- Provide campus safety coverage during weekends, holidays, and university breaks as part of a 24/7 operational schedule.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A service-oriented mindset with a commitment to campus safety and community engagement.
Preferred:
- Experience in public safety, law enforcement, or a related field.
- Familiarity with safety inspection protocols and incident reporting.
Position Details
- Employment Type: Full-time (40 hours per week).
- Work Schedule: Includes weekends, holidays, and campus breaks as part of a 24/7 operation.
