Job Description:The University of Florida, in Quincy, Florida is seeking a full-time faculty member, anAssistant Professor, for the North Florida Research and Education Center of the UF Institute of Food & Agricultural Sciences (“IFAS”), with duties and responsibilities to include research and extension activities, such as developing and integrating an internationally-recognized research and extension program that emphasizes wildlife management in forested systems with a focus on habitat manipulation, forest restoration, prescribed fire, game species, and human wildlife conflict. This includes supervising an Agriculture/Food Scientist and OPS Technician/Scientist. Extension activities will primarily target an audience of private landowners and land managers with programs aimed at education and instruction on the management of popular game species in the region (e.g., northern bobwhite, wild turkey, white-tailed deer) in forested systems. This position will also actively participate in undergraduate and graduate education by chairing graduate committees, serving on graduate committees, supervising thesis and dissertation research, supervising undergraduate research, and publishing the results with graduate students.
Minimum Requirements:Position requires a Ph.D. degree in Wildlife Ecology, Natural Resource Management, or a closely related field.
