Job Description:

Schedules all work to be done in assigned area. Responsible for the cleanliness and employees productivity in assigned area. Repeatedly checks while work is being performed and inspects after it is completed

Supervises and performs general cleaning of various buildings on campus.

Sees that all custodial equipment and machines are properly maintained. Reports any malfunction of equipment in assigned area to the supervisor so those repairs may be made.

Checks the records of all absent employees in assigned crew and makes recommendations to the Superintendent, Custodial as to the type of disciplinary action to be taken.

Reports maintenance problems that arise in assigned area. Makes certain that doors are unlocked and locked on schedule.

Maintains employee discipline and helps correct employee problems, completes employee’s appraisal. Operates state vehicle.

Completes daily reports, vacations, schedules and any special reports requested.

Orders and control supplies in all buildings in designated area.

Checks time for employees on Kronos. Approves timecards on Kronos

Assigns Workorders in Aim and charge time as needed

Drive state vehicle that requires Class E Drivers’ License.

Screen job applicants

Required to complete training prescribed by Facilities Services Training and Education Department, and the University’s Compliance Training.

Required to follow and adhere to all Building Services Standard Operating Procedures, and Facilities Services Policies and Directives.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE:

5:00PM to 1:30AM (Monday through Friday).

Workdays and shift times may vary in response to customer needs for special event coverage and/or departmental needs.

Some overtime may be required.

Total hours per week is 40.

Management retains the right and discretion to modify schedules, building assignments, shifts and/or days for operational purposes.

Position is considered as Essential Personnel as defined by UF Policy.

Expected Salary:

$17.25 Hourly based on experience.

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

EDUCATION & TRAINING

High School Diploma or equivalent and two years of experience in the field or in a related area

Floor care, hard surfaces, and carpet training program completion
