Data Management Analyst I
Job Description:The Department of Psychiatry is looking for Data Management Analyst I to manage projects within our Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) system and perform MS Access database transfers. This will include data entry, form clean up, and creating new instruments mostly within the REDCap database. The PGENeS Group studies how genes, environment, and culture interact and influence human emotion and behavior. In particular, we focus on how these factors affect the development and expression of neuropsychiatric syndromes including anxiety, resilience, ADHD, OCD, compulsive hoarding and tic disorders.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- REDCap Database Management: Perform routine monitoring of active REDCap databases, identify and address data-related issuers, database optimization, data cleaning, facilitate data sharing and harmonization with research collaborators through data mapping, offer troubleshooting and technical support to study personnel.
- REDCap Database Architecture: Design, develop, test and launch longitudinal research databases based on study protocol, Institutional Review Board (IRB) guidelines, current REDCap functionalities, and current lab data standards. Create forms in REDCap for new study data collection both for participant forms and study tracking.
- General Data Management: Manage paper materials and create appropriate logs and manuals for all data-related standards and protocols including but not limited to data entry and entry status for study personnel, and data management. Oversee volunteers on data entry of retroactive and active studies.
- Data Entry: Export data from current databases for entry/merging with REDCap databases. Enter data manually as needed.
- IT Consulting: Provide research collaborator with recommendations on database design based on study.
$50,000 - $60,000; commensurate with education and experience.
Minimum Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization.
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience working with relational databases, specifically REDCap.
- Ability to work independently, interact professionally and possess effective writing, data management and organizational skills. Experience with MS Access and online databases and/or collection in addition to REDCap. Experience with statistical software such as SPSS, Stat, or R.
- Previous experience working on a research project; paid or volunteer including data management.
