The Information Security Analyst is responsible for ensuring that the organization adheres to regulatory, industry, and internal security policies and standards. This role involves monitoring compliance with security frameworks, facilitating audits, and collaborating with various departments to implement best practices for data protection. The coordinator will assess security risks, develop compliance programs, and support the implementation of security controls to safeguard sensitive information. Key responsibilities include managing security assessments, maintaining documentation for compliance programs, supporting incident response efforts, and staying up to date with evolving security regulations. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex compliance requirements to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree and five years of professional information technology experience, with three years of experience in an information security role
- Work experience in an information security or information technology role may replace education requirements on a year-for-year basis
- A master's degree in a related field is preferred
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Industry-recognized certification is preferred from organizations such as, but not limited to GAIC, SANS, ISC2, ISACA, EC-Council
Motor Vehicle Operator Designation (Required): (Refer to CP 1.51): Employees in this position: Will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a 'non-frequent driver' NOTE: A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or University of Florida Health automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job.
