Overview
JOB DUTIES
Enroll UFJPI physicians and non-physician service providers with BCBS and government-sponsored third party payors. Maintain provider enrollment, certification, and documentation records.
Essential Functions
• Enroll/re-enroll all eligible providers under which services will be billed, such as MDs, DOs, PhDs, PAs, ARNPs, CRNAs, etc.
• Prepare and distribute enrollment packets for each eligible provider for all applicable carriers.
• Obtain UFJP provider number from Accounting upon receipt of initial carrier authorization for each eligible provider.
• Follow-up on all open provider enrollment applications with carriers through issuance of provider numbers.
• Maintain accurate records of provider enrollment and certification documentation.
• Interact with Information Services to insure timely updates of provider information, including but not limited to: UFJP provider number, billing locations, and carrier provider numbers in the IDX system provider dictionary.
• Distribute provider start and termination date information to all appropriate personnel.
• Assist providers, clinic personnel and co-workers with enrollment issues and questions.
• Inform appropriate personnel and providers of changes in key enrollment issues/policies.
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities
• Proficiency with spreadsheet, word processing, and database software (preferably Excel, Lotus, MS Word, WordPerfect).
• Ability to communicate effectively and courteously, both orally and in writing
• Demonstrated self-motivation, ability to work independently with particular attention to detail and accuracy
• Concisely communicate and relate to all levels of the organization, customers and outside agencies
• Analytical skills including the ability to visualize, articulate, conceptualize, and solve complex problems using logic and reason.
• Ability to handle records in a confidential manner and to file appropriately.
Experience Requirements

Medical office or third party carrier experience preferred
Credentialing knowledge or experience helpful. preferred
Education Requirements
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
Associates preferred
