Overview
Assesses, plans and implements recreational therapy approaches and assists in outcome evaluation of psychiatric and/or substance abuse patients. Works with patients and families within an interdisciplinary team model. Provides therapeutic, educational activities utilizing individual and group modalities. Responsible for documentation in accordance with JCAHO and hospital standards.
Must successfully pass an AHCA Level 2 screening for this position
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:Bachelors degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, Art Therapy, Rehabilitation Therapy, or related field. Demonstrated knowledge and skill in a broad range of therapy services, preferred. Previous experience working with psychiatric and/or addiction patient population preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory accreditation standards preferred. Demonstrated strong communications skills. Demonstrated knowledge and appreciation of the disciplines represented on a multidisciplinary treatment team. Demonstrated ability to interact collaboratively and effectively within the team paradigm. Basic computer literacy in Windows and word processing applications preferred. Certification in R.T. preferred.Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:Employees in this position:Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purposeNOTE: A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or Shands automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job.
