Overview
The RN Coordinator is a registered professional nurse who supports the Nurse Manager and provides leadership for the overall operations of the unit/department. Coverage is on a 24/7 basis, including weekends, holidays, and evening/night shifts. Provides structure and support to unit staff and other health care professionals. Is able to demonstrate critical thinking skills, creativity, and has the knowledge to manage resources to achieve quality performance, positive employee relations, and compliance with hospital guidelines. Skilled in coaching, mentoring, and leading a professional and technical team in the delivery of services to our patient population. Demonstrates effective stewardship of scarce resources by appropriate staff/resource utilization. Is supportive of change activities in the unit and works to ensure implementation of change that may occur. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Assists with clinical coverage schedules, provides clinical leadership support and direct patient care if staffing requires. Works with the Nurse Manager to provide staff development and assist with performance evaluations. Works collaboratively with the Nursing Coordinators to facilitate throughput. Represents the Nurse Manager when needed.Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Current RN license in state of Florida. Bachelor�s Degree in Nursing, MSN preferred. National nursing certification required. Current staff without national nursing board certification in specialty area must obtain certification as contracted by the VP/AVP. Minimum of 2 years in clinical specialty. Demonstrable autonomous and accountable nursing practice with strong patient care outcomes management skills and excellent interpersonal relationship (IPR) skills. Demonstrable leadership in patient care and unit-based outcomes. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to influence excellence in patient care. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current RN license in state of Florida Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Employees in this position: Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose NOTE: A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or University of Florida Health automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job.
