Student Office Assistant
Job Description:In this role, you will have the chance to contribute to the vibrant student experience at UF while gaining invaluable professional skills and exposure. As a Student Assistant, you will be an integral part of our team, working closely with experienced professionals to support various initiatives and projects within the Student Life department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receptionist and first point of contact for the Office of the Vice President for Student Life.
- Greeting and assisting visitors and guests entering the suite with a pleasant demeanor.
- Manage incoming phone calls, take messages, and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff members as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk area
- Use critical thinking skills and resources to assist with questions and requests.
- Assist staff with a variety of administrative needs including event preparation, emailing, errands, and other tasks as requested.
- Keep the main office area and kitchen clean (supply management, cleaning front office areas and kitchen etc.)
Hours are flexible based on students' schedules with availability between 8:00 AM - 5:00 Monday-Friday.
Expected Salary:$13.00 per hour
Minimum Requirements:- Currently enrolled as a full-time student at the University of Florida with a minimum GPA of 2.5
- Must be in good academic and conduct standing with the University.
- Must be flexible to work 2-3 morning and/or afternoon shifts. Shifts are scheduled around course schedules.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for Student Life and the University of Florida
- Individuals with flexible schedules who may be willing to work when class is not in session, but the University is open (between semesters, Spring Break, etc.)
- Individuals who are highly organized and have a high attention to detail that can effectively communicate with a wide variety of parties and backgrounds.
