Overview
Oversees technical operations in the lab, including administrative and technical support of laboratory operations, problem resolution, technical development and procedure implementation, purchasing, etc. Performs analytical procedures when required. Responsible for Quality Assurance functions, including data collection, analysis and reporting. Assumes operational responsibility during Manager's absence.Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:: Five years experience/training as a Histotechnologist and be eligible for Florida State Licensure as a Supervisor. Minimum five years of lead or supervisory experience is preferred. Motor Vehicle Operator Designation (Required): (Refer to CP 1.51): Employees in this position: Will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a 'non-Frequent driver' NOTE: A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or Shands automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job. Please indicate the appropriate operator designation on the Request for Personnel (RFP) form at the time a RFP is submitted to post the position. Licensure/Certification/Registration:: Must possess a current license as a State of Florida Clinical Laboratory Supervisor in the appropriate lab area, or be eligible for a temporary license. ASCP certification is strongly preferred. Temporary licensure must be permanent within one year of accepting the position; if not, the position is automatically forfeited.
