Overview
The Registered Nurse Supervisor will provide supervision and evaluate clinical staff (RN, LPN, MA, tech, and CCA) and participate in the evaluation of clerical staff in collaboration with their documented supervisor. Will be responsible for coordinating daily practice activities and ensuring adequate coverage and appropriate staffing. Will provide clinical nursing assessment, support, counseling, and direct patient care in a physician's office setting. Will work in collaboration with other health care providers and ancillary services. Will participate with management in the development and initiation of practice specific policies, protocols, and critical pathways. Will assist with budget development and monitor fiscal compliance. Will supervise clinical staff and maintain mandatory regulatory institutional policy and procedures under the direction and in collaboration with the Practice Manager and Medical Director. May be required to float to other UFHP practices, as needed, for staffing.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Required to have graduated from an accredited school of professional nursing and hold licensure as Registered Nurse.
- Four years of ambulatory care or hospital RN experience; may include LPN or MA experience.
- Must have work experience that demonstrates abilities of leading and directing the work of others.
- Prior supervisory experience or formal supervisory training preferred.
- Proven ability to display initiative, multitask, problem solve, and be a team player is essential.
- Certification in area of specialty preferred.
Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:
- Employees in this position: Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose
NOTE: A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or Shands automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- Current licensure by the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse.
- Basic Life Support (CPR) certification or must be obtained within the first month of employment.
