Position Summary | This work involves activities of an assigned shift of personnel engaged in the operation and monitoring of data center facilities and related infrastructure equipment, such as HVAC, electrical grid, emergency backup UPS and generator systems, water/leak detection equipment, security and fire suppression systems, as well as research and enterprise servers, core networking services, and related services and equipment. Assist with installing server racks, cabinets, servers, storage devices, and network devices. Responsibilities include planning, scheduling, and coordinating those activities; the resolution of complex error situations with and without additional technical or supervisory assistance; making recommendations regarding new or improved service routines and production schedules. Work is performed alongside other shift personnel and subject to review by the Operations and Infrastructure leadership through conferences and evaluation of results obtained. |

Duties/Responsibilities | Inventory Responsibilities for EITS Switching Equipment: * Verify all currently assigned inventory items by matching UGA control tags and recorded serial numbers. * Through AiM, keep up to date records of building/room locations for all EITS network assets and update records as moves are made. * Work with EITS internal inventory team and UGA Property Control on a regular and ongoing basis to make changes and corrections as necessary. * Manage and inventory EITS spare equipment, including notifying supervisor when stock needs to be replenished. |
