Special Instructions to Applicants | This postdoctoral research scientist will be part of an international consortium with research laboratories in Germany, New Zealand, and elsewhere in the USA. We are focusing on developing genetic methods to study bacteria and archaea in ruminant livestock. Over two years, we aim to develop the genetic tools needed to study and manipulate these poorly understood prokaryotes, with the long- term goal of creating the knowledge and tools needed to mitigate this potent anthropogenic driver of climate change. Candidates with a Ph.D. in any field related to the biology of microbes are encouraged to apply, especially those skilled in the genetic manipulation of microbes and/or the biology of anaerobic microorganisms. |
