Position Information Position Title Theatrical Carpenter / Painter FLSA Classification NE Reports to Director, Technical Theater Salary Range H1 Weeks Per Year 40 Work Week 40 hours (minimum) Position Summary Assumes responsibility for the construction, painting, maintenance, repairs and installation of scenery in performance venues in an effort to meet The Hartt School’s production requirements. Performs all duties in support of the University’s mission, understanding that the positive and effective execution of these duties are instrumental to the education of the University’s students. Hiring Range 10-month position; $18.60 to $20.00 / hour based on experience Key Responsibilities Key Responsibilities
- Assumes responsibility for the installation of all scenery in performance venues as well as the striking of scenery post production. Maintains accurate records of materials and labor used to complete all projects.
- Constructs and repairs structural woodwork as required from blue prints, drawings and / or verbal or written instructions. Performs general carpentry and metal work in an effort to adhere to designer’s elevations. Ensures the care and maintenance of woodworking machinery and tools.
- Maintains and observes all safety policies and procedures to ensure safe work conditions and reduce safety hazards at all times. Practices energy conservation.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
