Position Information Job Title Visiting Assistant Professor / Director of Graduate Programs in Nursing (2024 2025) Rank Visiting Assistant Professor Tenure Information Non-Tenure Track Job Description The Department of Nursing in the College of Education, Nursing, and Health Professions at the University of Hartford is seeking candidates for a non-tenure track position as a Visiting Assistant Professor / Director of Graduate Nursing Programs, to begin in August 2024. The program director works in collaboration with the Department Chair and Dean to oversee, maintain, and enhance the academic quality and viability of the Graduate Nursing programs.

Candidates should show a willingness and ability to employ technology in teaching. Additionally, candidates will be expected to engage in regular departmental service such as curriculum development, advising, student recruitment, and mentoring. Ongoing curriculum assessment will primarily focus on the MSN and DNP programs, which are organized by the AACN Essentials for Graduate Nursing Education. Excellent teaching, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Required Qualifications We are seeking individuals with the following qualifications :

  • Doctorate degree required (PhD, EdD, DNP)
  • Online teaching experience in MSN program or higher degree
  • An active license as a registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas : Curriculum DevelopmentCourse DevelopmentAccreditation processesDevelopment and maintenance of community and healthcare partnershipsStudent advisementTechnology in teachingCommunication and collaborative practice
  • Demonstrated evidence of commitment to scholarly endeavors and service in the profession
  • Candidates should also show a willingness and ability to employ technology in teaching and use a variety of teaching methods in the online teaching environment.
