GRADUATE RESEARCH ASSISTANT OPPORTUNITY
GRADUATE RESEARCH ASSISTANT: Under the general supervision of faculty in UHERO, a Graduate Research Assistant is needed. Position is half-time (50%FTE), temporary appointment renewable depending on availability of funds, satisfactory performance, and the needs of the project.
DUTIES: Assist professors by collecting and analyzing regional data on innovation, industries and economic outcomes. Development and disseminate education materials and present the findings of the project to the community. Assist in other related tasks as assigned. There may also be opportunities to use findings towards own research.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Economics PhD student enrolled full time at the University of Hawaii. Experience in data analysis and coding in R. Excellent communication skills, demonstrated experience with report writing and editing, attention to detail and accuracy of data and reports, strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, flexible and willing to learn new skills, able to work independently and reliably to contribute to learn, competent in Microsoft office.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Interest in Regional Economics (or urban/spatial economics and economic geography) and endogenous growth or innovation ecosystems.
SALARY: GA11-11: $24,912 (annual minimum)
