Selectee is required to complete the COE New Faculty orientation in the first year and pass a criminal background check and Title IX training.Duties and Responsibilities : Teach various undergraduate and post-baccalaureate level mathematics methods courses in the School of Teacher Education–Elementary program.Prepare course syllabi that meet COE accreditation standards.Mentor and assist students.Complete grades on a timely basis.Attend faculty meetings and perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.Minimum Qualifications : Master's degree in Education or related field from a college or university of recognized standing, with major work in the field of instructional assignment; equivalent experience in a relevant area will be considered.Evidence of ability to teach effectively and to direct group discussions.Poise and good address for meeting and conferring with others.Ability to travel independently to various geographical locations in a timely manner, which may be fulfilled by a valid Hawai'i Driver's License (class 3), comparable driver's license, or other means of transportation.Any equivalent combination of education and / or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills, and abilities as indicated.Desirable Qualifications : Experience teaching at the college level.Experience working in or with any PK-12 Hawaii school (private or public).To Apply : Click on the "Apply" button on the top right corner of the screen to complete an application and attach required documents.
