Duties and Responsibilities (
- denotes essential functions)
- Professionally crafts and manages internal and external communication of the library and builds and strengthens both internal and external relationships.
- Works with library leadership to conceptualize, develop and implement the library's communication plan including monitoring and researching peer institution practices and industry trends.
- Collaborates with the UH Communications Office to disseminate library information and stories to enhance visibility and advance the library's programs and people.
- Provides assistance, information, and guidance to the library faculty, staff, and students on communication.
- Sets the direction for social media efforts at the library, in collaboration with the Social Media Committee, with regard to content language, frequency, channels and best practices.
- Provides content for the library's website, video channels, and social media distribution venues.
- Facilitates production and publication of the library's annual report, newsletters, videos, and any other publications and notices.
- Develops, writes and disseminates News Release for the library and schedules coverage and interviews as appropriate.
- Communicates, promotes, and coordinates library exhibits including chairing the Library Exhibits Committee.
- Oversees library's internal weekly update announcements.
- Assists with library special events.
- Recruits, hires, trains and supervises student assistants.
- Other duties as assigned.
