Because of the temporary nature of these appointments, Casual Hire employees are not eligible for most benefits provided to regular Board of Regents or Civil Service employees. Casual Hire appointments may last for up to 89 days for full-time employees, and up to 1 calendar year for part-time employees.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Substitute for teacher when absent from work and/or lack of student support as required to meet DHHS/NAYC licensing/staffing requirements.
- Maintain a safe, healthy environment for children and adult students.
- Understand and implement best practices in Developmental curriculum.
- Supervise children 18 months to 5 years of age and adult ECED students in the classroom.
- Able to supervise and mentor adult ECE lab students.
- Able to follow and implement schedule set by teacher.
Work schedule: As needed to replace absent teachers. Time may vary from 7:30 am - 5:00 pm.
Minimum Qualifications:
- AS in Early Childhood or BA degree in Social Science plus 9 credits in ECE.
- Experience teaching 18 month to 5 year olds.
- Able to meet Department of Human Services licensing/staff requirements.
- Fingerprinting and criminal history check.
