Other Conditions: Appointment to begin approximately August 2024, pending position clearance and availability of funding.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach Spanish language courses (12 credits per semester).
- Provide academic advising to students.
- Participate in department, academic, university and community service.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Spanish Language from a college or university of recognized standing.
- Minimum of four (4) years teaching Spanish Language at the Associate Instructor level, or equivalent.
- Successful teaching with emphasis on diversity experience for student success.
- Experience in teaching the first two years (courses 101-102, 201-202) of Spanish Language.
- Native or near-native Spanish Language is required.
- Documented evidence of maintaining the required class enrollment level for 5 years.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in teaching in multiple modalities (online, face to face, hybrid, etc.)
- Experience in teaching diverse student populations with interest in developing pedagogical skills to do so.
- Evidence of excellence in teaching such as teaching awards or commendations.
- Previous experience overseeing a language lab and managing language tutors.
