Salary Information: Minimum $1,820 per credit hour; commensurate with qualifications and experience
Other Conditions:
For placement in lecturer pool beginning Fall 2023 and for future semesters. Positions are part-time, temporary, non-tenure for lecturer candidate pool. Contingent upon course offerings, sufficient student enrollment, position availability, departmental need, and availability of funds. Lecturers are required to reside in and teach from Hawaii.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Instruct Honors courses (HON 101, HON 291 and/or HON 495 level courses)
- Help prepare students for inquiry based projects through coursework.
- Other related duties, including preparing course syllabus, lesson preparation, grading, labs, and maintaining weekly office hours.
Minimum Qualifications
- PhD Degree in Humanities, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences. ABD will be considered.
- Teaching experience at collegiate level, introductory level courses.
Desirable Qualifications
- Teaching experience in interdisciplinary topics and methods
- Teaching experience in Honors program or college or advising
- Familiarity with research, creative work and innovation in Hawai‘i and the Pacific region.
