Important note: Applicants seeking short-term or part-time work with the University of Hawai'i may apply for Casual Hire positions, which include administrative, professional, and technical (APT) or instructional-type positions. Because of the temporary nature of these appointments, Casual Hire employees are not eligible for most benefits as provided to regular BOR and Civil Service employees (i.e. paid holidays/leave). Casual Hire appointments may last for up to 89 days for full-time employees, and up to 1 calendar year for part-time employees.

Continuation is dependent on satisfactory performance, program needs, and renewal of funds.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, teach courses assigned.
Develop curriculum and teach non-credit courses.
Subjects include but are not limited to the following: basic office skills, brand development (marketing), budgeting and finance, business, business or digital analytics, business plan development, entrepreneur, computer (basic, intermediate, and advanced), culinary, culture and history, IT Fundamentals, Artificial Intelligence (AI) Basics, Cyber-security, project management, health and wellness, digital advertising, digital media, digital arts fundamentals, graphic arts, English as a Second Language, Community Interpreting, Incumbent Worker Community Interpreting Fundamentals, Court Interpreting, foreign languages, gardening (aquaponics, organic, hydroponics), urban farming, Ikebana, hospitality and tourism, Tour Guide Training, leadership, marketing for small business, social media, soft skills, sustainability, resiliency, renewable energy, and performing arts (taiko, hula, or ukulele)
Specialized content specific contract training.
Evening, weekend courses, and distance education courses may be assigned.
Ability to communicate clearly and to teach for a variety of audiences, including adult learners and veterans.
Teaching assignment is as needed and dependent upon course enrollment
Minimum Qualifications:Certificate and/or license, associate or bachelor's degree in the appropriate subject area, when applicable; or equivalent combination of education/training and job-related experience
Knowledge, skills, ability, and expertise required in the field.
Must be able to provide a course proposal, description, syllabus detailing the student outcomes, and suggested budget.

Foreign Languages
