Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides and manages the day-to-day administrative support for the Ko Education Center (KoEC).
  • Serves as KoEC building coordinator. Oversees coordination of day-to-day facilities management to include but not limited to submission of work orders and building renovations.
  • Assists the Hawaii CC Administration with developing, supporting, and implementing programs that would serve the students and community of North Hawaii.
  • Responsible for monitoring and managing KoEC budgets to ensure the budget is maintained and expended appropriately. Ensures compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Supports and assists with personnel transactions, including recruitment, onboarding and evaluation.
  • Provides supervision and training for personnel, including Civil Service and Student Assistants.
  • Identifies, analyzes and finds resolution to facilities and operations problems including supplies/equipment requirements and staffing requirements.
  • Maintains oversight of auxiliary service and facilities maintenance, including compilation of current and historical compliance information for preparation of reports as required.
  • Keeps Hawaii CC Administration informed of concerns related to KoEC operations or facilities.
  • Prepares reports on equipment usage and other media-related services.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and operation of educational technology including the general use and multimedia classrooms.
  • Works closely with the Hawaii CC IT department to develop, implement and evaluate technology-related policies and procedures at KoEC.
  • Serves as the Center’s primary point of contact for technology support.
  • Provides on-going training and communication on technology safety and security.
  • Provides and/or coordinates support for classes, meetings, presentation, special events and projects.
  • Responsible for overseeing the coordination of community engagement events, including but not limited to convening planning committees, logistics and communication.
  • Participates in outreach, engagement and marketing activities.
  • Participates in College activities.
  • Duties may include working outside of normally scheduled hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Engineering, or related field and 3 year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for management support with familiarity in fiscal administration, procurement, budget or operation management; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
  • Considerable working knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the area of business administration as demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts, principles and methodologies.
  • Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations and theories and systems associated with business administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve wide ranging complex problems through the use of creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the cause of the problems and the resolution of the problems in an effective, innovative and timely manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing, verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer, apply word processing software, and spreadsheet software.
  • If applicable, for supervisory work, demonstrated ability to lead subordinates, manage work priorities and projects, and manage employee relations


Desirable Qualification:

  • Experience in higher education facility, auxiliary, operations, technology, or maintenance services.
  • Experience with the Kuali Financial System.
  • Fiscal or budgetary planning experience in an institution of higher education.
  • Experience in planning and coordinating logistics, to include event planning, communications and project management.
  • Experience in procurement.
  • Experience in developing policies and/or procedures.
  • Demonstrated commitment and/or experience supporting the success of students.
