SUMMARY OF POSITION
At UHSP, it is our mission to educate and advance communities of discovery to foster a healthier society, and our Campus Life mission is to support student and staff wellbeing and growth. In alignment with these guiding principles, the Coordinator of Counseling Services, who will report to the Vice President of Campus Life, is responsible for providing individual mental health care to students while coordinating additional support services, including managing a counseling intern and liaising with external resources. This role ensures that students have access to a comprehensive support system, both on and off-campus, by managing these resources effectively and addressing students' mental health needs through direct care and referrals.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Student Clinical Services (40%)
- Deliver individual and group counseling, perform intake assessments, treatment planning, and diagnostic formulation in line with evidence-based practices.
- Provide risk assessment, crisis intervention, psychoeducation, and follow-up support as needed.
- Documentation & Compliance (15%)
- Maintain timely, accurate clinical records and meet chart review requirements in accordance with counseling center policies, HIPAA/PHI, and ethical standards.
- Ethical Standards and Professionalism
- Uphold the highest ethical standards and confidentiality in counseling practices, following the degreed code of ethics and maintaining professionalism.
- Consultation, Training and Outreach (10%)
- Collaborate with campus community members to address mental health issues and support student wellbeing.
- Deliver training, workshops, and educational presentations on mental health and wellness topics.
- Operational and Administrative Duties (20%)
- Supervise the counseling intern, manage key operational aspects of the Counseling Center, and serve as the primary contact for counseling software
- Coordinate off-campus support services (e.g., student assistance programs) and assist in data collection, assessment, and reporting for departmental goals.
- Professional Development & Flexibility (10%)
- Maintain active licensure and participate in ongoing professional development.
- Demonstrate flexibility by working occasional evening/weekend hours for campus events, crisis situations, and on-call responsibilities, while maintaining regularly scheduled office hours.
- Other Duties as Assigned (5%)
- Perform other tasks as assigned to support the mission of UHSP and the overall success of the campus community.

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE
Required Education & Experience:
- A minimum of a master’s degree in Mental Health, Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology field.
- Licensed provider with the discipline of LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or Ph.D.
- At least four years of counseling experience, preferably in a college or university setting.
- Working knowledge of the DSM and the ability to assess mental health disorders.
Technical Skills/Abilities:
- Comfortable with use of computer technology (email, web-based surveys, Microsoft suite).
- Utilize computer skills for documentation and office administrative purposes.
- Experience with EHR systems

Salary : $57,000 - $60,300
