Description:
Assists the Director, Financial Aid with managing department operations; administers student loan programs.
1. Develop a strategic plan for the scholarship program, ensuring it reflects the institution’s mission and meets both short- and long-term objectives. Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure scholarship offerings are competitive and sustainable.
2. Lead efforts to innovate scholarship offerings, including merit-based, need-based, and diversity-focused scholarships. Continuously assess the effectiveness of existing programs and implement new initiatives to support student recruitment and retention.
3. Administers the Federal Director Loan Program; resolves loan issues in the Department of Education's Common Origination and Disbursement website (COD); performs monthly reconciliations; and updates associated loan policies and procedures.
4. Administers the Federal Plus Loan Program for parents and graduate students, and private and alternative loans for students; resolves loan issues in COD/ELM.
5. Assists director with managing department operations and supervises Financial Aid Specialists.
6. Assists director with developing financial aid strategies and plans consistent with Enrollment management objectives; ensures planning efforts are integrated with other university departments.
7. Oversees financial aid presentations to internal and external groups, and coordinates department activities.
8. Creates and updates application driven tables in PeopleSoft Student Financial Aid for budgets, awards, Pell Grants, and other financial aid modules.
9. Assists with the preparation, review, and analysis of reports to federal, state, and private agencies.
10. Responds to ad-hoc financial aid data requests and reports, and survey requests.
11. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in student counseling, business administration or related field and (5) years related experience
