Description:
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Houston hires part-time lecturers for classroom instruction and clinical supervision on an as-needed basis. Instructional content areas of particular need are: Aural Rehabilitation, Phonetics, Speech and Language Sciences and specialization in Clinical Education.
The University Speech Language and Hearing Clinic is seeking part-time, dynamic clinical educators to supervise and provide clinical instruction to graduate students in offsite school settings for the Fall semester. School and graduate student supervision experience preferred. Bilingual applicants a plus. The clinical educators provide assistance, guidance, and feedback/evaluation to help develop student's clinical skills. Applicants should provide a letter of interest, a list of professional references and a current curriculum vitae. Applicants are also welcome to provide a teaching philosophy or other evidence of excellence in their field.
Qualifications:
For lecturer positions, the department requires a terminal degree, though a Master's degree with expertise in a clinical area may be considered. For positions in clinical education, a Master's degree with current CCC, Texas State Licensure and three or more years of clinical experience is required. Prior supervisory or clinical education experience is a plus. Bilingual experience in a clinical setting is a plus.
