Sr Director- Development Communications

Provides leadership in the design and implementation of communications strategy in support of University of Houston Advancement & Alumni programs and services. Coordinates the production and execution of all print and digital communications directed to the alumni audience.

• Serves as liaison between Advancement & Alumni and Senior Leadership within the Division of Advancement in managing the overall strategy for communications.
• Provides research, writing and editorial support for all alumni communication projects as needed; provides general technical knowledge and experience in writing, editing and communication.
• Coordinates work with a broad group of writers and graphic designers.
• Develops and implements project management procedures and systems.
• Produces Annual Report, Alumni magazine publication, newsletter and other marketing documents, etc.
• Works closely with other advancement communications departments and integrates efforts, where possible.
• Fosters and enhances relationships with stakeholders to increase awareness of the A&A vision, mission, goals and community impact.
• Researches and produces webinars targeted to UH audience.
• Researches and writes stories that feature UH alumni for external communications. 10. Employs communications outreach via various digital platforms.
• Builds and maintains relationships with university representatives to ensure consistent and accurate communications.
• Uses partnerships to create and implement innovative communication strategies. 13. Manages and updates all electronic content for A&A website.
• Manages social media platforms and communications on behalf of A&A.
• Performs other job-related duties as required.
  
  

MQ: Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4-year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.

Experience: Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience.
