Position Overview
The position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing the steam and condensate piping systems, from the pressure reducing station to the points of use inside university buildings. It will assist plumbing personnel and other skilled trades shops with projects, repairs and emergencies as needed.
Duties may include :
- Troubleshoot, repair and maintain equipment
- Repair or replace steam pipeline and condensate lines to meet American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) code
- Repair or replace control valves, pressure reducing valves, pressure relief valves, check valves, vacuum relief valves, pipes, pumps and mechanical seals
- Assist with planning for and scheduling work that requires steam system shutdowns
- Other duties as assigned
