Exceptional applicants in all areas of biological physics will be considered; experimental candidates are preferred. The department has active theoretical, computational, and experimental biological physics research.Our faculty and students are affiliated with and have access to world-class campus multidisciplinary research centers and laboratories, including: the National Science Foundation Science and Technology Center for Quantitative Cell Biology (NSF STC-QCB), the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology, the Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology, the Materials Research Laboratory, the National Center for Supercomputing Applications, the Coordinated Science Laboratory, and the Holonyak Micro & Nanotechnology Lab.A doctoral degree in Physics or a related field is required at the start date, and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The budgeted salary range for the position is $110,000 to $129,000 at the Assistant professor level, $130,000 to $144,000 at the Associate Professor level and $145,000 to $170,000 at the Full Professor level, on a 9-month service basis.
