Position Summary
This Med-Peds Hospitalist will have an inpatient position with roles in both the Internal Medicine and Pediatric Department. The Med-Peds Hospitalist will conduct rounds on the inpatient Medicine and Pediatric wards at SFMC and CHOI respectively. They will be responsible for teaching medical students and residents, as well as seeing patients independently on adult and pediatric wards
Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach medical students and residents in the Internal Medicine and Pediatric department on inpatient teaching rounds
- Provide clinical services for patients hospitalized in the Children’s Hospital of Illinois (CHOI) and OSF Saint Francis Medical Center (SFMC)
- Organize and conduct research and QI programs as desired.
- Provide attending physician coverage in the Med-Peds continuity clinic at Heartland Health Center. This will include precepting in the Med-Peds residency continuity clinic, with an opportunity for teaching medical students and residents as a clinic preceptor.
- Participation in undergraduate, graduate and continuing education programs of the Department of Pediatrics and Internal Medicine.
- Perform other duties of a University faculty member including committee assignments, curriculum development, student and resident mentoring, and administrative opportunities.
