Position Summary
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria seeks a Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist for a position as Assistant/Associate Professor of Pediatrics to enhance a growing division. The position includes care of inpatients and outpatients with a variety of pediatric hematologic and oncologic problems, including those followed in the St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The position includes care of inpatients and outpatients with a variety of pediatric hematologic and oncologic problems, including those followed in the St. Jude’s Midwest Affiliate. Interest in pediatric leukemia and lymphoma is desired as one of the main roles is to assist in caring for patients with leukemia and lymphoma.
- See referral hematology/oncology consultations from throughout the Central Illinois Region.
- Fully participate in teaching programs in hematology and oncology for undergraduate medical students and residents and participate in the undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education programs of the Department.
- Organize and conduct bench and/or clinical research in the field of pediatric hematology/oncology.
- Participate in cooperative research efforts and clinical trials research protocols at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee, and the Children’s Oncology Group (COG).
- Perform other duties of a University faculty member including committee assignments, curriculum development, student counseling, and administration, as needed.
