UIC is seeking a DevSecOps Systems Engineer to join our Technology Solutions team. This role will be working collaboratively with IT security, system engineers, developers, and application owners to enhance our service portfolio. As a key member of our development team, you will play a vital role in improving the security of our infrastructure, bringing new efficiencies and capabilities to our software solutions. Your responsibilities will include secure service development, system and code analysis, security testing, vulnerability management, and automation and orchestration.

- Applying DevSecOps principles, participate in and lead audits, tabletop exercises, and compliance activities to ensure systems meet regulatory requirements such as HIPAA, FERPA, PIPA, NIST SP 800-171, etc.
- Design and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipelines, automating the software delivery process.
- Monitor and analyze system performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to increase efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
- Create and maintain documentation of security and operational procedures, including disaster recovery plans and incident response procedures.
- Work with internal and external auditors to maintain compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
