Position Summary This position is responsible for oversight and management of the clinical operations of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic. This includes the clinic's administrative operations, clinic budget management, regulatory compliance, equipment and capital procurement, development of patient communications, outreach, staff management, scheduling and marketing. The Director will develop all appropriate guidelines, policies and procedures related to patient care, research, educational programs; clinical compliance etc.; ensuring all clinical operations and program support the Department and the College of Dentistry's mission. Duties & Responsibilities
• Manage the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic by working collaboratively with the Department Head, other clinics, departmental and/or college leadership to develop and maintain a comprehensive system for managing the setting, work assignments and patients.
• Responsible for the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic-support operations and services, (such as patient accounts, health records, supplies, etc.); monitor the use of diagnostic services, patient chairs, facilities, and staff to ensure effective use of resources and assess the need for additional staff, equipment and services.
• Works with the program director to ensure sufficient resident clinic coverage.
• Works with program director to support the CODA residency program accreditation process.
• Perform quality assurance to ensure compliance with College, OSHA, HIPAA, Radiation Monitoring, First Aid and CPR certifications policies.
• Oversee supervisory staff whom are responsible for care coordination, outside referrals from private practices and other referring agencies and hospitals are being addressed in a timely manner.
• Improve overall patient service through analysis and refinement of programs associated with patient satisfaction including manage patient inquires and concerns/complaints.
• Develop appropriate clinic patient scheduling and strategies for implementation. Develop practice models (“best practices”) for implementation in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery clinic to improve overall operations.
• Support ongoing facility operations; identify and resolve issues with building management personnel.
• Participate in budget planning, provide reports as needed, review monthly clinical financial statements to identify process improvement opportunities and cost monitoring related to clinical expenses.
• Oversee purchasing of clinic supplies to ensure cost appropriateness.
• Works with the Office of Clinic Affairs to ensure compliance with College protocols; policies and procedures.
• Works closely with the medical billing team and surgical coordinator to ensure financial and medical readiness for surgery to ensure compliance with UIH policies & procedures.
• Works in collaboration with the required College entities to ensure all clinical providers are credentialed/recredentialed.
• Educate students on operational and compliance requirements for the clinic.
• Supervise and work with care coordination team to communicate pre & post op guidelines, and triage and coordinate emergency medical situations.
