Position Summary
The ideal candidate will complement the existing strengths of the CME department by bridging between the Environmental Engineering and one or more of the Civil Engineering research groups (Structural, Construction, Transportation, Materials, Geotechnical, etc.). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate in cross-disciplinary teams across the University and will complement the department's core environmental engineering and science research group with interests in eco-restoration, contaminant fate and transport, applied environmental biotechnology, water treatment, water supply, stormwater management, infrastructure system management, and smart, sustainable, and resilient infrastructure systems. Excellent laboratory facilities exist in the CME Department.
Duties & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to establish a strong sponsored research program, teach and develop undergraduate and graduate courses, and advise students. The successful candidate will be expected to perform interdisciplinary research, interface with industry, federal, state, local, national labs, and other governmental agencies to attract external funds for support of research, provide service to the university and the profession, and publish in technical journals. Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
