Employees in positions allocated to this classification are responsible for the management of business, fiscal, and / or administrative operations. A Business / Administrative Associate interacts with a wide variety of internal and external constituents regarding business, fiscal, and / or administrative functions. While operating with a high level of autonomy and independent decision-making, they work under the direction of designated administrators.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Manage day-to-day financial operations on business systems - ANA, Banner, Eddie, Grants and Sponsored Projects, HR Front End, iBuy (Online Purchasing), My-UI-Financials, PARIS, Travel and Expense Management and View Direct which includes reconciling any deficit transactions for all funding types, reconciling payroll transactions for instructional hard and soft funds and annual operating expenses.manages and oversees business, fiscal, and / or administrative operations
- Analyze annual departmental budget, including permanent personnel budget, instructional soft money budget and operating (WEE) budget, Summer Session budget and actual expenditure to ensure all expenses were within budgetary and provided analysis on variances for all funds.
- Manage & reconcile all corporate cards and TEM transactions. Also served as department card manager (DCM) for the supervision, administration, and monitoring of all cards for the department.
- Manage & monitor the department research funds and union professional & development funds for 80 TT and NTT faculty members.
- Maintain FABWeb system for departmental fixed assets, including office furniture, and 80 faculty computers; generate capitalized equipment reports
- Explain new policies, rules, procedures and accounting practices to employees and students.
- Serve as a liaison to other designated administrative units of the University including ACCC and Facilities Management.
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Required :
1. Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a field related to the position.
5. Five years of professional business, financial, and / or managerial work experience.
NOTE : A Master's Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year (12 months) of work experience.)
