Position Summary:

Reporting directly to the department Director and/or designee, employees at this level effectively and independently monitor information processing functions for the department including staffing resource allocation, establishment of work standards, determination of work priorities, and problem solving. This position will attend and represent the department at applicable meetings, and assist in the administration and coordination of patient expiration, which may include monitoring and/or administering specific, moderately complex hospital activities. Responsible for managing the day-to-day department operations to maintain customer satisfaction and support across the organization. This position collaborates with physicians, employees, leadership and funeral home staff as deemed necessary.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a resource and consults with departments across the organization on processes, and policies related to the Nursing Resource office and staffing.
  • Develops education/informational materials, policies, and procedure documents that fall under the purview of the nursing resource office.
  • Assembles data and prepares a variety of administrative reports.
  • Assists in making recommendations during budget planning
  • Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications Required:


1. Any one or any combination, that equals 3 years (36 months) of the following types of preparation-

A. college course work leading to a major in hospital administration, health administration, or business administration, or similar area of study

  • Associate Degree (60 semester hours) equals 1 year (12 months)
  • 90-semester hours equals 2 years (24 months)
  • Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) equals 3 years (36 months)

OR

B. progressively more responsible experience that provided a knowledge of generally accepted principles, theories, and practices used in hospital administration, health administration, business administration or similar professional experience

2. One year (12 months) of hospital/medical center/health care administrative work experience

OR

College course work leading to a Master's Degree in hospital administration, health administration, business administration or similar area of study
