Position Summary
As funded by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services(IDCFS), PRIDE Trainers are responsible for facilitating trainings for the PRIDE Foster and Adoptive Parent Training Program to prospective,relative / fictive kin, licensed, and adoptive / sub-guardianship caregivers acrossIllinois through web-based, instructor-led, and hybrid learning formats for theLearning and Development Unit within the Office of Learning and ProfessionalDevelopment (OLDP).
Duties & Responsibilities
Training Facilitation
Facilitate a combination of in-person, virtual, and on-demand trainingsbased on approved DCFS caregiver curricula. Trainers must be capable offacilitating all three formats, adapting to varying training assignmentsdepending on demand. Travel for in-person trainings is required at times. While efforts are made to limit travel withingeographic regions, PRIDE is a statewide program and at times there may bestatewide travel associated with training assignments.
Data Management andAdministrative Support
Responsible for data entry, ensuring the timely submission ofrequired paperwork, and managing workflows to meet deadlines. This includesreviewing and managing training schedules to avoid conflicting assignments andmonitoring hours to ensure compliance with the 40-hour weekly limit based ontheir job classification. Trainers must also submit payroll and traveldocumentation in accordance with UIUC payroll and mileage guidelines.
Staff Development andAdditional Responsibilities
Participate periodically in staff developmentactivities and meetings, supporting the ongoing growth of the team. They mayalso be assigned to individual, or group projects related to training,curriculum development, or other tasks that ensure the successful delivery ofcaregiver training programs. Travel forin-person workgroups, staff development, and staff meetings is required attimes. While efforts are made to limittravel within geographic regions, PRIDE is a statewide program and at timesthere may be statewide travel associated with assignments, staff meetings,and / or staff development.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree. A minimum of 5 years of recent experience as alicensed Foster and / or Adoptive Parent with knowledge of child welfarepractices in Illinois, or 3 years of recent experience as a child welfareprofessional in a public or private child welfare agency with knowledge ofchild welfare practices in Illinois.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work. Previous experience as atrainer.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills with theability to exercise independent judgment; excellent oral and writtencommunication skills and ability to follow oral and written instructions; Stronginterpersonal, customer service, and active listening skills. Proficient inZoom and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams), with accessto PDF tools (Adobe, Acrobat Reader) recommended. Skilled in data entry andmanaging workflow to meet deadlines.
Appointment Information
This is a part-time Academic Hourly position,appointed on a 12-month basis. The position is grant-funded, and severalpositions are available statewide. Renewal is contingent upon the availabilityof funds. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the searchposting closes. The hourly wage for this position is $38.00 per hour while facilitatingtrainings and $19.00 per hour while preparing training materials. Sponsorship for workauthorization is not available for this position. Hybrid work options may be available for this positionwith the ability to be on-site as needed per the University's WorkplaceFlexibility policy.
