The Department of Physics in The Grainger College of Engineeringseeks applicants for a Research Scientist in Biological Physics position.This position will conduct genome-wide measurements of gene expression kineticsto establish generalizable rules for bacterial gene regulation in the Dr. Sangjin Kim Lab.This position will include assisting in the training of students andpreparation of publications.
Duties andResponsibilities :
- Independently plan and conduct experiments in RNA kinetics usingreal-time PCR and RNA seq.
- Analyzing data from experiments.
- Supporting laboratory needs in the wet lab.
- Assisting in the training of graduate and undergraduate students.
- Preparing manuscripts and other presentations for publicationand other presentations for national and international meetings. Assume additional appropriate related duties to further the mission of the department.
Minimum Qualifications :
APPOINTMENTINFORMATION
This is a full-time academic professional position appointed on a12-month service basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible afterthe closing date. Applicants may beinterviewed before the closing date; however, no hiring decision will be madeuntil after that date. The budgeted salary range for this position is $60,000 -$68,000. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications andexperience, while also considering internal equity. This position will beexpected to work at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus on afull-time basis per the University'sWorkplace Flexibility policy. Sponsorship for work authorization isavailable for this position.
