The University of Indianapolis is seeking a passionate, motivated, and detail-oriented Corners Coach to join our football program and enhance the growth of our student-athletes on and off the field. In this key role, you will collaborate closely with the Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator to elevate our defensive backfield performance, focusing on cornerbacks. You will take the lead in developing athletes, analyzing game and practice film, and strategically preparing for each opponent to maintain a competitive edge. This is a 9-month position offering a stipend salary, meals, and opportunities for additional compensation through summer camps.

Responsibilities
- Lead the coaching, training, and mentorship of the cornerback position group, focusing on advanced techniques, fundamentals, and position-specific skills
- Implement and oversee tailored position drills designed to maximize individual player performance, speed, and agility
- Identify, evaluate, and recruit prospective student-athletes who demonstrate exceptional talent, character, and academic readiness
- Establish and maintain relationships with high school coaches, prospects, and families, ensuring a robust recruiting pipeline
- Collaborate with the Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator to develop effective defensive strategies and install weekly game plans
- Organize, instruct, and manage the scout team to replicate opponents’ offensive schemes, ensuring thorough defensive preparedness
- Use film breakdown to assess individual and group performance, identify opponent tendencies, and adjust defensive schemes accordingly
- Provide detailed analysis and actionable feedback to players, emphasizing technique refinements and tactical awareness
- Assist with day-to-day operations of the football program, including coordinating team travel, equipment distribution, and practice scheduling
- Contribute to summer camps and clinics, facilitating player development opportunities and enhancing community engagement
- Promote academic excellence, athletic achievement, and personal integrity within the program
- Ensure compliance with all NCAA, conference, and institutional rules, regulations, and policies to maintain program eligibility and integrity
- Required
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Comprehensive understanding of defensive football and cornerback-specific techniques.
- Preferred
- Collegiate playing or coaching experience, with a strong emphasis on cornerback or defensive back positions.
- Demonstrated recruiting experience and ability to connect with diverse student-athletes.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
